Psych Week 2024! Learning APA Style
April 21 through 27, 2024, has been designated Psych Week by the American Psychological Association, with a goal of celebrating the science of psychology! All week we’ll be sharing various resources and links to learn more about psychology.
One thing many students struggle with is learning to write in APA style, but there are many online resources that can help you!
Purdue OWL Website
The Purdue Online Writing Lab [OWL} site includes easy links to examples of all types of references, so whether you’re citing a journal article, a blog post, or a YouTube video, you can quickly see how to correctly list these in your paper.

You can also look at sample papers on the Purdue OWL site—this can be a useful way to check things like the layout of the title page, in-text citations, headings, or other style aspects. The samples here also include annotations that explain different style requirements.
APA Style Blog
The APA Style website includes a helpful blog, with posts about all aspects of writing.
Inclusive Language Guide
APA has also released an inclusive language guide, with up-to-date guidelines for how to write about different groups in a way that centers the voices and perspectives of those who have been historically marginalized or stereotyped. You can read general guidelines and download the entire guide on this website:
